Contactmend is a backup-first workspace for carefully repairing duplicate contacts. It finds pair candidates using exact normalized phone numbers and email addresses, keeps name-only leads locked, and shows conflicts before a merge plan can proceed.

BACK UP BEFORE WRITING
For live contacts, Contactmend serializes the original pair to a protected local vCard before submitting the Contacts save request. A persistent transaction journal records the result.

RESTORE WITH A GUARDRAIL
Restore is offered only when the surviving contact still matches its post-merge fingerprint. If the record changed after the merge, Contactmend blocks the automated restore so newer edits are not silently overwritten.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Matching, previews, backups, and the transaction journal stay on device. There is no account, subscription, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking, or Contactmend server upload. Contacts permission is requested only after you choose My Contacts and continue. Exports leave the app only when you use the system share sheet.

Contactmend also shields contact details when the app becomes inactive, supports full vCard export after a live scan, and includes a Field Guide with the exact safety and privacy model.
